I wasn't entirely sure about Liminal Minds as a webdev brand, and [personal profile] helenic (my partner in crime the proposed webdev company) was actively opposed to it. The survey yesterday seems to say that although some people like it, some people really don't, which isn't ideal for a business name.

So, next attempt:

Again, comments welcome. The domain name would be shinyideas.co.uk

I don't think it matters that much what you call yourself, as long as the name doesn't put off people who know nothing about you. The important thing is the meaning you put into your name, through your marketing, products, customer service, etc.

Depends who you're trying to sell to. I don't think it's a name that corporate folk would be entirely comfortable with, but if you're working with individuals and bands and artists and the like, then yes, it's a good name.

Reasons for "um" - I'd prefer a .com, and I'm not sure how flexible a brand this is in terms of catering to a wide audience. Fine among the geek community, but not sure how well it would extend to other markets, particularly more corporate ones.

We want a brand that's simple, memorable, quirky, eye-catching and which has a twist or visual pun that can be used in marketing. This does actually fulfil all those criteria, and there's a very successful UK designer whose company is shinybinary.com, so it's possible. I'd rather sit down and thrash out some boundaries and criteria and ideas with you before you buy any more domains though ;)
