Vocabulary Test
Feb. 12th, 2003 12:53 pmThis is hard going - 200 pairs of words, that you have to identify as being 'same' or 'opposite'. For example:
1 whit iota [ ]same [ ]opposite

I got 166 out of 200, which is a lot less than I expected to get until I saw some of the words in there... for instance:
119 irrefragable confutable [ ]same [ ]opposite
Update: I've just noticed that this page is part of a website titled "the Uncommonly Difficult I.Q. Tests page". I feel a bit better now :)

At least I know about litotes and meiosis, though homothermic and poikilothermic stumped me a bit, even though I recognise both of the words from New Scientist.
