US voting machine glitch changes election result

A recently found computer glitch in the voting machines in Franklin County, Indiana has given a democrat enough votes to bump a republican from victory in a County Commissioner's race.

The glitch in the machines recorded straight Democratic Party votes for Libertarians.

out of interest, what do you think they would do in the states if they could prove that they fixed it, cynic that i am, i kinda feel that it still wouldn't change anything.

I don't think they're going to be able to undeniably prove that it was definitely fixed, but I do believe that the circumstantial evidence to that effect (such as statistical analysis of results in counties with and without auditable voting processes) will become incredibly compelling as it builds up... and, like you, I don't think it will change anything.
