"Life in the bus lane, mate" (Moff, Human Traffic)

Life continues to be slow and (mostly) uneventful, with occasional bursts of pain. [livejournal.com profile] duranorak has been here for a few days, but has now mooched off to Cambridge to see all the pretty shiny people. *waves at the good ship Calling and all who sail in her*

I got a whole load of DVDs a few days back, most of which I've now watched... causing occasional bursts of pain in [livejournal.com profile] duranorak, who seems convinced that I have little taste in anything relating to popular culture. She's probably right. But Tank Girl still rocks, so there.

I didn't take any painkillers at all yesterday. It took me hours to get to sleep, which has been becoming something of a pattern anyway - but once I did eventually pass out, I seemed to sleep fairly successfully, and woke up feeling positively chirpy for a man with a broken leg. This wore off after a bit of moving around, but it was still a nice way to start the day.

In geeky news, my Kings of Chaos army is doing quite well, slowly crawling up the ranks to the dizzy heights of #59 at the time of posting. I may have to dig out the obsessive post with all my allies' links, to see if you friendly people can boost me into the top 50 now  :)

Just thought I'd post one of those "Hey look, I'm still alive" kind of posts. Leg still hurts, although apparently not as much as it did a few days back as I'm taking a lot less painkillers now. But that evens out to me being in the same amount of perceived pain, so it's no more fun, just mildly reassuring when I stop to work it all out.

I had the cast removed on Monday, because it was aggravating the various bits of delicate skin under it, including both the skin graft and the donor site for same. icky ) So I'm a bit narked about that, considering I wanted to talk my way out of this cast business before it was even done, and they didn't give me the chance. Still, at least the consultant didn't give me a hard time about removing it - as soon as I listed the problems it was causing, he told the other staff that it had to be removed, then after a brief discussion with me, agreed that it could stay off as long as I was "very careful". So plenty of laying around doing nothing for me then... which was pretty much my plan anyway.

That said, [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke is coming over this evening and if I'm feeling up to it, we might venture out to the rather good burger place in the SnowSlug near MK shopping centre. Depends how much I ache really, but those burgers are pretty good - I might just load up on painkillers and go for it anyway  ;)

[livejournal.com profile] duranorak has been looking after me during this period of inactivity, so *big kisses* to her. I would deliver them in person, but she's downstairs working her way through my entire collection of Buffy videos in some odd order that she's chosen... probably based mostly on how much Spike appears in each episode  :)

Oh yeah... I'm back to my KoC addiction... make me an elf?
