This and that
Mar. 6th, 2003 11:51 pmIt feels like about time to resume my usual posting habits, or at least start updating slightly more often than I have been this past week. So, I've been in Cambridge this evening and yesterday evening, with a brief spin back to MK this afternoon - because I was dim enough to leave my laptop power supply at work when I left there last night, and therefore had to come back and collect it before I could do more than two hours (battery life) of work today.
Last night was odd - I turned up in Cambridge to find
gothslut on her way to bed at half past eight in the evening, so I ended up staring at the bedroom ceiling until about half past ten waiting for sleep to catch up with me. The early night was due to a bit of a drinking session in the afternoon... apparently it's traditional to blame Oliver when this happens, but I suspect the desire to drink copious quantities of alcohol may have figured into it somewhere as well.
This evening I learnt how to play Settlers, which seems quietly entertaining (I lost, but I don't think I did too badly, so I can live with that) and Aquarius (I think that's what it was called), a game where "the player with the longest hair goes first". That's a quote from the side of the box, by the way. I got to go first :)
wechsler was nice enough to host this evening of games, with
firewoman also in attendance to see me get thrashed. Erm, hang on, let me rephrase that... ;)
Anyway, a nice evening, marred only by
wechsler being wiped out towards the end by some icky cold type thing, and me having to ride home in the bloody freezing bloody cold. Yes, it's really very very cold out there. I suspect if I'd ridden for any longer in that, I'd have done injury to my fingers. I really need warmer gloves if I'm going to hammer around in this weather on a motorbike.
And now, I'm going to go and curl up under my duvet, with my electric blanket and a good book. Night all...
