This was another case of sensationalised journalism. She wasn't campaigning to shut the site down, she was campaigning to have the slanderous/libellous comments removed. Which they did. So she was happy.
The Today programme this morning was reporting that she wanted it closed despite the posts being removed and notices being posted on the site asking people not to mention her in any way.
David Adams, MD of [Mumsnet's] Internet Service Provider, DSC, said: "Within hours of Gina Ford notifying Mumsnet of three postings she considered to be defamatory, I was asked to shut down Mumsnet completely."
