This was another case of sensationalised journalism. She wasn't campaigning to shut the site down, she was campaigning to have the slanderous/libellous comments removed. Which they did. So she was happy.

Her lawyers have asked to have the entire site closed, from all the reports I just read in several papers. Where are your facts from?

The Today programme this morning was reporting that she wanted it closed despite the posts being removed and notices being posted on the site asking people not to mention her in any way.

I got her side of the story from her own web site when the sensation started.

I think it's a case of the papers reporting the twist on the story that's going to get most people to read the paper/website...
