i love the way he makes it sounds as if the internet (blogging, moveon.org, et al) hasn't already had a massive impact on the way people access or get involved with politics.

oh, quite the opposite. I'd be hard-pressed to name a half-dozen really significant political blogs in Britain, let alone anything comparable to moveon or the role of the net in the last presidential elections. We're a bit of a backwater - a good few years behind Russia or Iran, let alone the USA.

I guess this project could work, but only if it subdivides into groups of people who mostly agree with each other to begin with. Otherwise, it'll just end up as a giant flamewar.
