Just waved goodbye to the car as it disappeared on the back of a flatbed, bound for Newbury and an expert rebuild.

Investigation of my insurance situation yesterday revealed that I can't afford to change the ECU until I've resolved the liability for my bike accident, so for now it's just getting the rebuild, mild porting, and de-cat downpipe. Rest of exhaust, air filter, and ECU+mapping, will have to wait.

Last night on the owners club forums someone posted a really strong recommendation of the place it's going to, saying they did a fantastic job and in less time than quoted. I hope mine gets the same treatment.

In the engine? Um... it has spark plugs. Air filter, fuel injection, turbos, exhaust... actually, most of the input and output stages are similar to a piston engine, it's just the combustion chamber that's weird. Instead of pistons whizzing up and down, with valves etc on top of them, you have this thing:

It is also very interesting to note that the twin spark plugs, fire out of phase with the second plug fireing twice...I wondered how they got the detonation process to produce rotary movement...
