A friend of mine runs a sound and lighting company, and is organising a fairly spectacular birthday event on behalf of a friend of his. As part of the night's generally club-like atmosphere, he would like to have two to four podium dancers in attendance. Dancers are expected by be 'a bit raunchy', not 'pole dancer sexy', if you see the difference - it's not a strip club.

Dancers would be expected to be performing for around 15 minutes per hour, gig is likely to run around six hours, maybe eight. There's some money available, around 50 quid per dancer, plus free food and bar (note: don't take the piss - the crew's primary job on the night is not 'drinking the bar dry' :) ).

The party is happening on June 18th, in and around a listed building barn on the grounds of a stately mansion house place... sounds nice :) Music will be mostly club anthems, Pete Tong sort of stuff I think. Oh, I'll be there doing fire-poi (outside) and glow-juggling (inside).

I dunno if anyone knows anyone who's likely to be interested in the dancing work, but if so then please put them in touch with me and I can give them more info.

Right, time for you to weild your executive decision-making powers...

For an idea of what they look like, see this page: http://sirenz.mine.nu/sirenz/images/gallery/20050219_tribeoffrog/index.htm

Questions: Are they the right look, do you want them? If so, do you want two, three, or four dancers? Will their travel costs be covered on top of the 50 quid fee each? (they're coming from Bristol area)

And can you email me exact details of where the event is happening, as I'm likely to be driving to it now and I don't appear to have a clue where it's happening :)

er...hrm decisions...
I think it would be unreasonable to expect " these guys " to pay transport out of the bounty offered.

I had xhecked out their website, and was very impressed you know how I like to play with UV ( I've turned to the dark side of lighting ) sorry couldn't resist the Star Wars pun thing...

The Event for general purposes is in Hitchin.

But is s bit of a pig to find, the " client " obviously doesn't want to attract unwanted visitors, so I don't know how we will mark local village junctions etc, but in fairness it is much easier in the Summer evenings...Warning to Denny, there are a few streatches of road, where there isn't enough room for one fast moving shiny new car to pass other not so shiny road users...be warned...and obviously this time of year, banging a feew of my searchlights out will not be visible early on...

Do I take it that the sum of £ 50.00 plus transport is not an insult to " these guys ", It's a pity my flakey freinds said they would do it for that, as the client now has that figure in his head...

Could one of the sirenz give a rough idea of how much travel costs would be ?

Will e mail you the address, and exsact instructions from the A6 travelling North out of Luton towards Bedford. ( It's sorta mid way between chez towerz and luton )

Oh, I think I know whereabouts it is now. Hrm, I don't know if they're coming by car or train... if it's the latter, that'll be entertaining! Luton is probably closest I guess, then `either a serious taxi, or someone from crew picking them up?

If it's by car then it's just a matter of providing very accurate instructions I suppose :)

And yeah, I thought you'd approve of the UV reactive stylee :)

You need to let her know how many people you would ideally like, so she can find out how many of her team are actually available that weekend...

I shall be duly cautious of the local tractors and suchlike. I'm not much for overtaking on blind bends since I did my advanced riding training with the police, they get really stroppy about that kind of thing :)

Should have read this perhaps before I asked some of my questions!!

I think we will be coming by car, though we might be in 2 cars, not one, as my car is a teeny car!

Would it be OK for any of the girls to bring partners to the party if they wanted to? Obviously we wouldn't bring just anyone!!

I'd guess that it would cost about £30 per car for petrol, but that is just a rough guess it could be more or less, when I know how far it is I may be able to judge better!

£50 per dancer is fine considering you have never seen us in action, and its your first event, should not be a problem at all :)

We look very very good under UV, oh yes indeedy (I too LOVE UV *grins*)
