No, not a banana phone revival :) Just a warning that the vibrate feature on my mobile seems to have stopped working. Combined with the fact that I got an iRiver for Xmas (and am using it enthusiastically whenever I leave the house), this means I'm likely to miss quite a lot of calls. Please don't feel unloved if I don't answer the phone to you! I always call people back when I notice missed calls, time and circumstances permitting.
I was already planning on upgrading my phone soon anyway (probably to a Nokia 6630, if anyone is interested and/or has advice to offer), so hopefully this won't be a problem for too long.

Date: 2005-01-05 10:12 am (UTC)I've seen a very similar phone to the 7610 (exactly the same overall shape) but with a normal shaped keypad on it, which is their 'business' version of the same thing - that's either just been released, or is just about to be. Doesn't have the mp3 player built-in though :)
I think I will probably get the 6630 unless it's really expensive to upgrade to, in which case I might get the 6600 myself.

As for MP3 players, it's easy enough to get freeware players installed. Obviously you only get a mono sound due to the peripherals available. After that, your only consideration is memory, and you can squeeze little on the paltry 32MB card supplied with the handset, although you can obviously upgrade. I read somewhere that you can get N-Gage game cards (DTS-128) to work in the same way as the as the standard supplied card, once formatted. These cards, sold as DTS-128 go for around £50-£60, but I've seen people selling "N-Gage Games" for £10-£20, not realising that they're the same hardware!
