Places to see, people to do...
Nov. 26th, 2004 02:07 pmSpent the evening in East London yesterday (guv), visiting
wechsler and
valkyriekaren. Karen was good enough to feed me, so I'll have to let her off for viciously beating me by one point at the board game we all played (the name of which I can't remember) *sulk*. It's nice to finally be feeling settled in to London enough that I can start spending some time visiting friends, rather than having to spend every single minute that I'm not working on packing/moving/etc.
At some point I'll have to embark on the huge job of unpacking all the boxes and bags that currently FILL my frontroom and bedroom from wall to wall, but for now I'm going to chill out for a while.
On the way to their place, I saw a sniffer dog team snag someone at the local tube station who very obviously was not best pleased at being pawed by the long arm of the law. I saw his eyes as the dog tapped him twice on the thigh, and he definitely wasn't looking forward to them finding whatever was in his pockets(es). As it wasn't an armed team, I'm presuming it was a drugs dog and not an explosives one.
Been feeling a bit grotty on and off this week, I think I've got a low-level cold of some kind. At least it's not making a major bid for flattening me out completely. And hey - it's Friday, and I have three new books and nothing much to do this weekend - so plenty of lazing around in store for me :)
People who are still owed boo, don't worry - your time will soon come :) I enjoyed writing all the ones I've done so far, and I'm looking forward to doing the rest as time and energy permits.
