According to my friends page and rapidly growing SMS collection, it is snowing in the UK. In towns including but not limited to Birmingham, Cambridge and Milton Keynes.
Wasn't snowing in Oxford when I spoke to my parents. Might be by now though. :) It's all white here.
Oh and something I though might amuse you. Me and housemate were both late to work today due to an accident near our house. Guess what caused it.......not one but two (yes two!!!) Clio's!!! Bloody things. At least they didn't hit a bike this time. :/
I was wondering what your opinion is on chain fire poi and wire fire poi, as I am currently looking to get a set for a close friend and have been told the wire poi are better.
Any tips for buying would be a great help too. (by the way I'm randon_goblins Mr's just incase you were wondering who I am)
I'm told by people who know better than I, that chain is the way to go. I've spun both and honestly not noticed much difference, but I do know that I have to be careful not to kink the cables on my fire poi when I put them away, so in terms of that small practicality alone the chains would be better.
Also, if you are gung-ho enough to do wraps with fire poi (yes, I do) then you'll find that chains heat up far less than cables, as there's not a single continuous piece of metal to conduct the heat up to the top. Also cables are more likely to cut you or your clothing if you slide them during the wrap.
The third alternative is ball-chain, which looks quite pretty. I think it's rated in-between chain and cable for heat conduction. Have a look in the shop section on www.homeofpoi.com to see this stuff (although don't actually buy from there, apparently their stuff isn't all great quality).
