I just found some stuff that blows Bonjella away in the 'relieving pain from mouth ulcers' stakes. It's called Orajel, comes with dire health warnings on the packet, and is a seriously effective local anaesthetic. I put the stuff on about 30 seconds ago, and I can no longer feel the bit of my tongue that has had a hole in it for the last few days.

Happy now.

We have that in the US. They even make a baby version for teethers, but it never worked on my son. it's fun to play with on various body parts to see what goes numb.
