denny: (Loser)
[personal profile] denny
Just finished filling out the main chunk of the 'Means Information' form for the court to use when deciding how much I can afford to be fined. Turns out that each month:
  Mortgage
+ Bills (Council Tax + Gas + Electric + Water)
+ Transport (Insurance + Road Tax + Maintenance + Petrol (to work only))
+ Loan Payments + Credit Cards
  ==============
  My Wages - £11
  ==============
Note that the list doesn't include food or other such frivolous items.

I was at least pleasantly surprised to recall that I did actually clear all my credit cards down a while back. They haven't really crept back much (i.e. they're still under £1000 between them), which is nice. I did have to take on a huge loan to clear them, but that doesn't feel anywhere near as scary for some reason... I think it's just because you hear so many horror stories about people getting into near impossible financial situations with credit card debts.

Hrm.

you need to move down to Cambridge or London, where you won't need to drive to work, and live in a shared house with lovely people so you won't have to pay so much rent.
