A bank manager has been jailed afer he took £1.5 million from rich clients' accounts and moved it to his clients struggling with debts. Peter Taubinger, 45, transferred thousands of pounds from the bank in Tauberfranken to the accounts of single mothers, pensioners, and even a young man made jobless by ill health. He turned himself in after he realised that he could not cover his tracks, and now faces 34 months in prison on 168 counts of embezzlement.
