There seems to be something odd going on at the minute. When I use the 'reply at the webpage' link in emails to post a reply to a comment, it appears as a base-level comment to the post it's attached to, rather than as a reply to the particular comment I was intending to reply to.

Erm, if you followed that, it's probably because it's happening to you too  :)

this is probably a bizarre artefact relating to the changes announced in the lj_maintenance community.
