Other than the noteable exception of the really good time I had at [livejournal.com profile] wechsler's, this weekend didn't really go to plan. I was in my car because I was meant to be moving stuff, so didn't get to play on the bike in the glorious weather. In the end I wasn't moving stuff, so spent the weekend scowling at anyone else who was daring to enjoy themselves on two wheels  ;)

I also had a bit of a dodgy weekend for actually sleeping. Which is usually something I'm rather good at, so I don't do well on reduced rations. Friday night I slept through most of, but woke up at the unheard of hour of 8:30am. I couldn't breathe. This was traced, with the help of copious amounts of tissue, to the fact that my nose was full of blood. Odd way to wake up. I presume one of the two people I was sharing a bed with must have elbowed me in the face at some point - it was a bit crowded in there and I had the middle. Saturday was [livejournal.com profile] wechsler's sofa, which is actually pretty comfortable but nonetheless is a foot or more shorter than me. Also, he voluntarily gets up in the mornings, which always strikes me as an odd thing to do. Still, he did cook me breakfast, so I'll let him off  ;)  Then last night I was in the middle of the crowd again and couldn't even get to sleep, so at 2am I slid out and opted for the sofa there too. More comfortable sofa, but with less in the way of covers, so a bit cold and not much sleep. And then up at 9am to come in to work. Yay.

Still, I've got a good feeling about this week. Tonight I'm meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] darklightimages and we're going ice-skating, which will be great (a) because I haven't seen her for Far Too Long, and (b) because I haven't skated for years. I'm hoping I haven't lost all my ability at it... I used to be pretty good. Tomorrow promises to be a particularly good Calling, with a [livejournal.com profile] duranorak and a [livejournal.com profile] tacohell for me to entertain, as well as the usual suspects from the CamGoth crowd to watch and admire.

Wednesday evening might assume some of the practical role that this weekend didn't manage, in which case Thursday has definitely got 'early night' written all over it. And then it'll be Friday. Well... I'm hopeful, for Friday. Things look like they might work out in a fashion showing some justice... not always a feature of our judicial system.

So, on the whole, I'm feeling a bit shit but the future looks quite good. Better than the opposite, I'm sure...

I always find the trouble with being in the middle is that you get so incredibly hot. Was it as least a kingsized bed?

That was a part of it last night... the other part being that each of my partners in crime seemed determined to occupy the entire bed by themself  :)

It's a double, with a heavy-weight duvet that doesn't quite cover it. Far from ideal for that kind of thing, but they're both very nice people so it seemed worth a try  *grin*

ah. double bed = king-size duvet, in my book. That way, when I'm on my own I can snuggle right up in the covers like I like to do, and when there's someone else there there's enough to go round.
Not had three people in my current bed yet.

Yeah, that's what I reckon. My bed at home is actually some daft 1.5 size, so a standard double duvet gives plenty spare... it's running out of mattress that's the problem there of course  :)

Amen.

(This confuses my mother; sooner or later she will give up helpfully trying to buy me bedcoverings without considering the uncoordinated sizings. She is a short person, so she doesn't get it.)

Ice skating...sort of!

Just like to say for all to read that it was brilliant to see Denny tonight! He is correct in that it had been FAR TOO LONG! Skating was... painful but fun all the same!
