On a whim, I decided to count up how many calories I'd eaten/drunk at work today...

1 x cheese and ham toasted sandwich - estimated 400 600 kcal
2 x Orange Lucozade - 266 each
1 x battered sausage and chips (from fish and chip shop) - estimated 600 1000 kcal
1 x isotonic drink - 136 kcal
2 x mini Cadbury's Dairy Milk - 80 each
1 pack of cheap strawberry fizzy sweets - 240 kcal

600 + 266 + 266 + 1000 + 136 + 80 + 80 + 240 = 2668

[Plus dinner, which I've now forgotten but was probably not entirely healthy.]

The Lucozade bottle helpfully informs me that 266 kcal is 13% of my RDA, so that makes the RDA about 2050? [Or maybe 2500? Or 3000? PRACE BETS NOW!] Clearly I have a well-optimised terrible balanced frightening whatever diet. *cough*

I think you're underestimating certain things...

Dependent how much cheese in your sandwich, it's probably more like 500-600 calories (bear in mind that 25g cheese is 120 calories or so).

Battered sausage and chips is likely to be more in the region of 1,000 calories unless they were very well drained.

Sorry. :)

Post suitably revised. I was rather unsure about those two, just had a quick google and took the first vague consensus I could find.
