firewoman just reminded me of something I noticed again at the Calling this week and meant to post about. It's really quite touching to watch people greeting each other as they turn up at the Calling. I'm presuming that many of these people see each other every other day, and yet the greetings are often of the nature I'd expect to see at an airport, with the level of exuberance of families welcoming long-absent travellers home again.

I don't know whether it's the camgoths who are unusual for being so pleased to see each other all the time, or if it's the crowd I used to hang around with who are unusual for just casually nodding 'hello' when their friends join them... but I know which approach I prefer.
