Another 2007 meme

First line from first post of each month of 2007, skipping memes, link-posts, and other content-free stuff.
Public service announcement for anyone who might be visiting me at home... I've dismantled the speakerphone system at my flat, so if you want to get let in to the block, you'll need to phone me on my mobile or home phone, and then wait for me to come and open the door by hand.
This evening I decided to update a load of packages on my Debian box at home.
We hit DEFCON 1 at work at 4pm this afternoon, when our previously well-behaved (well, okay, but it mostly works) web application suddenly ate all the RAM and swap space on one server, locking the entire machine solid.
A good weekend was had, starting with Chaos Engine in Cheltenham on Friday with elevenwords and a cast of thousands.
Yesterday I spent six fucking hours driving in never-leave-first-gear traffic.
Got to the Monkey House about half past nine on Saturday evening, and left at about half past eight on Sunday evening, thereby narrowly avoiding their house rule that anything and anyone staying in the house for more than 24 hours becomes their property.
One of my friends is going to be looking for work (in London) soon - her experience is mostly in advertising sales, plus some general office admin stuff.
Life is going pretty damn well at the minute.
So today is my birthday ...but not a particularly happy one.
So when I was 21 or so, I got my second tattoo.
Just sent this to someone to let them know what was happening with my ongoing flat purchase, figured it was worth sticking it on here too...
So, it's December, and therefore (by my own personal laws, which will be enforced by all means necessary when I'm ruler of the known universe), it is no longer illegal to mention Xmas.
That's actually not a bad summary of the year, although it does make me wonder why anyone reads this journal.
