A few of these seem to have some relation to a discussion I had recently on LJ about respect for authority, and how that relates to being a manager. In my opinion, you don't get the respect when you get the job - you just get the chance to start earning it. I think parts of this list back that up, although I might be interpreting it to suit my way of looking at things.
