I can walk around the house, basically - as long as I concentrate on moving slowly, and only in certain 'safe' ways (I don't like the idea of exerting much sideways or twisting force on the leg yet, so I'm cautious about cornering). I don't intend to try going down stairs without a crutch just yet, although I might try going up them later today.
It feels very odd. I have to concentrate both on how I move, and on supressing a lot of pain signals - about 3/4 of which are false, just sheer panic in the muscles and nerves because my body knows all is not quite right yet and wants me to lay down for another few months.
Sounds like a real improvement. You're right to be careful - last thing you want to do is give yourself a bash or twist something trying to take things too quickly. Concentrating sounds like a fine plan. I guess this is one of those situations where you really do have to learn to walk again before you can run? Stay safe, eh? :oD
My plans for that weekend are very undecided and largely dependent on finances and how I feel at the time. It's the last ever Full Tilt on the Friday, which is calling to me particularly loudly... but I'm not sure I can afford it.
Though I can't claim to really understand the difficulty in walking (as I wasn't injured), I do have some empathy for the financial side of things. My accident (http://www.codesmith.org.uk/blog/2003_12_01_archive.html#107027528734949553) was in early December, and the fuckwits who are supposedly on my side had to be cajoled into supporting my side of the case, and STILL haven't produced any worthwhile results.
Not much compared to your situation, true, but I can imagine just how frustrating it must be.

I'll look forward to it.
