Propagation: LJ IM

For those who weren't already aware, LJ have set up a jabber-based instant messenger network. Your username is ljusername@livejournal.com, your password is your LJ password, and the server is livejournal.com. It automatically adds everyone on your friends list to your IM contact list, which is handy.

Oh, and it has a bot that allows you to post to LJ from your IM client, although I can't see that being very useful.

Indeed, it doesn't seem very useful. given that your post has to be one jabber message, this kinda puts a limit on the length of the post that you can make. I don't think you can set any metadata other than the subject. See my last post for an example of a post.

Have to say it was rather quick to post. Would be nice if they get some more commands into the bot, so you could do more than just post short entries, although I'm not sure how the ui would work.
