So it turns out I could really do with finding a flat in the next two weeks, so that I can give my notice in time to move out of this one during the last week before I start work at the new place. Time flies! I thought I was going to sort this stuff out after my operation, but it turns out after thinking it through, that now is the best time for me to flat-hunt, and then is the best time for me to move - and it'll save me having to commute with a dodgy leg, which will save me a lot of worry.

So, the selection I've left enquiries about so far:

http://www.findaproperty.com/agent.aspx?agentid=3511&opt=prop&pid=207088
http://www.findaproperty.com/agent.aspx?agentid=8055&opt=prop&pid=586473 (ooh, shiny)

http://www.findaproperty.com/agent.aspx?agentid=4136&opt=prop&pid=340834

The last few are slightly out of my maximum price range, but they're so close to where I'll be working. I'm gonna see if I can knock them down a little bit. *fingers crossed*

They're really nice places. It still shockes me that a one bedroom flat in London cost the same per week as my (admittedly very crappy) house at uni did a month.

Shiny is indeed shiny. Coupla things; do check out the area whe you visit places as alot of the bits round kingsland road are somewhat grim (our HQ for my proper work is there, so I've puttered round there a bit), and also, do not leave email enquiries as they do not respond to them. In addition, they will rarely call you back, you have to keep calling them.

Check how responsibility is shared for problems in ex council properties , a few people round us have been screwed when, say, the flat upstairs is leaking into their as you suddenly discover theres a huge row about whose problem that is to sort if they've sold them off piecemeal.

I like how the last one, they've got a picture of their sign. Just in case you forget whose website you're looking at?

Yowser. Those aren't much cheaper than what I was paying for 2 double bed in Kings Cross. Hoxton's grim though, from what I know of it. You're better off in Islington somewhere.

I'm really really really bad at mornings. I'll pay up to 100 quid more and live in a grottier area to get an extra half hour in bed before work.

Yes, I've met a man like you. I suspect you'll just stay in bed for another half an hour anyway ;)

The new employer feels less tolerant of that kind of thing than previous ones have been. I'm a bit worried about it.

I'll just have to start going to bed at half past nine on school-nights :)

Does it actually state whether the second one (Bath Street) is ground floor? Although since the last one is 2nd floor I'm assuming that's not so much an issue?

But yay, these are lovely :) And if they're all near Old Street tube you can potentially do mass viewings in one day :) Good luck! *kisses*

I think Hoxton's a great area: go for it! (So long as you don't mind the above-average Nathan Barley quotient.) Looks like you might be working quite close to where I work too, ha ha.

Yes, very close as far as I'm aware. I would pop in to say 'hi', but... :-P Still, we can 'do' lunch :-D

I liked the one with two bedrooms and a balcony.
And the kicthen there looks nice as well.

You could use the extra bedroom as your home-office instead of having all your computer-things in the livingroom ;)
