Gym yesterday evening and again this evening. Yesterday I did loads more than my plan says, I just felt up to it and it went fine - felt fine this morning too. Today I did a tiny bit more than the plan, but tried not to get over-excited and do too much as I think I'll probably be feeling a few aches tomorrow from doing two days in a row.

After yesterday's session I was definitely on an endorphin high, which is a really odd sensation that I don't think I've ever noticed having before... a kind of 'body happy', with no emotional or intellectual basis. Lasted about two hours, I think, although it was most noticeable for the half hour after I got home. I can see how people could get into chasing that sensation, but it's a bit subtle for my tastes.

The eating better half of the plan didn't do as well last week as the week before, but I still haven't eaten any ready meals and hardly any chocolate. I am eating cinnamon whirls from the bakery near work almost every day though, so the latter probably isn't that impressive :) I also had pizza one night last week and a (10 quid, real meat) burger another night. Other than that it's mostly been fresh pasta with various sauces, and pasta salad things with fish or chicken from M&S in the day. Hardly ate any fruit last week, must remember to go shopping and buy a load more, for snacking on both at home and at work.

Um, this concludes today's boring update from the Campaign for a Healthier Denny. As you were.

PS: this CD is brilliant, dunno why it had moved out of the stack of stuff I listen to regularly. *bounces*

You're doing really well.

I've come across a rather good cookbook which you might find useful - it's called Cooking for Blokes:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0751532754/qid=1138176873/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/026-6516348-7594869
and despite the hideously 'laddish' title has some really good recipes and takes you through things step by step. Each recipe has a difficulty rating, list of ingredients and list of kitchen equipment you'll need to make it.

Sounds like it could be worth a look - thanks!
