I'm always confused by this 'looking like a child' theory anyway. Shaved adults look like shaved adults, the resemblance to a child is uh, non-existent really. Or at least, I really don't see it.
One of them had frustrated me (no, he didnt really deserve it!) and the other was thinking cos he was bigger than me he could stop me moving. I felt I had to reinforce the reality, you can't go round letting people think they can do stuff just because they are bigger and stronger than you, it would cause all sorts of trouble.
Possibly the veiw from where I stand is different? Mainly the only thing I noticed, getting older, was growing hair. To me, hair=adult. Not helped by teh only men who ever suggested it to me being sexist arrogant wankers that would have quite liked for me to be more infantile, mentally.
I've read it before... it's the least convincing link I've ever seen used in a discussion on this issue. For a start, the writing style sets my teeth on edge, she probably couldn't persuade me that I liked chocolate. Also, she seems to be blaming a fucked-up relationship on the shaving just as much as he was blaming it on the not shaving. Shaved or not was probably totally irrelevant to their problems.
Personally, I hate my garden, but I quite like my flat. Not that it's a particularly useful analogy. The closest one I can come up with for the aesthetic side of the preference is that I like de-trimmed cars - their lines are clearer and smoother, it accentuates their curves and highlights the underlying shape by removing visual clutter from around it. Women's bodies are a very nice shape :)
Plus, there's really no analogy for the fact that you get about 400% as much sensitive skin available for licking on someone who shaves, and likewise on myself when I shave :) The visual preference is really just icing on the cake... unhindered and widely expanded potential for oral sex is teh win.
To be honest it wasn't about convincing you. I have no interest in convincing you as it's unlikely to be anything i'd ever have to negotiate with you anyhow. I'm just trying to explain - which is difficult as the link doesnt quite hit the why's, just the what's, i think. It's better when seen in performance, as most of TVM is. Particularly the orgasm sketch.
I have a certain amount of sympathy for teh idea that the hair thing symbolises something fundamental in the relationship - see previous comment about idiot boyfriends. I think you are thinking about hair/no hair in purely sexual terms, but that's not how it feels to me,for me theres a whole heap of stuff round that.
Your second paragrapgh is inducing a massive temptation to make jokes about decking and go faster stripes, so i think i'll move swiftly on!
Sensitivity wise . . . between very sensitive skin anyway, extra pain nerves, the frankly scary quality of the hair and the total inability of any hair removal method not leave me with painful, itchy, red, inflamed or otherwise damaged parts, even ignoring whtehr you like the visuals or the sensations, it ain't going anywhere!

IMHO, YMMV. :)
