The weekend continues... last night was metal at the Black Sheep - and a very good night it was too. Definitely planning on going back there next week. Also, I had unexpected company at the end of the evening, so that was nice :)

Tonight it was Popstarz at Scala, which was mostly cheesy indie and pop, plus a scattering of other stuff. Not my ideal choice of music, but it had its moments, and it's one of those clubs that I've been meaning to check out for months.

Mostly it left me very aware of the fact that I can't actually dance very well at all... headbang yes, bounce around like a mad thing yes (within constraints of leg these days), but actually moving to the music with some degree of grace and style, not really my area of expertise. This awareness was helped along by the contrast with the rather more eye-pleasing dancefloor efforts of my companions for the evening, particularly the delectable [livejournal.com profile] cryx :)

Left at 3am, partly due to the above, but mostly due to my leg being really really really unhappy about me going out dancing two nights in a row. When the pain breaks through two tramadols, I guess it's time to give up for the night. I'm still considering going out tomorrow night though - there's a house night on at SEOne that sounds quite promising.

Filled up with petrol on the way home... the fuel economy of my car appears to have descended to 8 miles to the gallon now. This is Not Good. I haven't even been driving it hard since I last filled up, so I'm pretty sure there must be some kind of problem with it. I'm going to have to take it back to the engine place to be looked at - again. *le sigh*

I'm considering naming the car Psycho Wench. This would seem to be in keeping with both a certain trend in my prior loves, and with its own less than stable but simultaneously rather exciting character.

Hmmm... it's possible that the fuel economy could be linked to the colder weather. Maybe there's a bit of fuel line freeze up going on. I don't know about over here, but in the US you can find various products to put in the tank to help prevent freeze up. Check any service station. If something like that would work, it's a lot less expensive than taking the car to be looked at.

Hrm... it's possible that it's running on a lot of choke, I'm doing mostly short journeys. Wow, if that's all it is, that's one hell of a dip in fuel efficiency :-o

I guess it depends on the fuel efficiency before. It may not be the only problem, but it might be a factor (and possibly the largest factor). Some cars seem to have a lot more trouble with cold weather than others. As best I can tell, there's no rhyme or reason to it. :)
