You may recall that I ordered the 'all the Buffy you can eat' boxset last month, and it turned up broken. I sent it back, and that was the last I heard of it. Today I rang play.com to find out what was going on, and it appears that due to some stellar incompetence on their part, they have not only lost the returned item itself, but also (conveniently) all my email enquiries about said item between the date it arrived there and today.
Fortunately, as it was sent recorded delivery and Royal Mail show it was confirmed delivered, they can't weasel out of the whole thing. Unfortunately, as it was a limited edition boxset, all they can to do at this late stage is refund me - it sold out weeks ago. So no Buffy for me. Bah.
On the gripping hand, I'm almost glad about this outcome... the boxset itself was very cheaply manufactured, and having seen it I would really rather own the individual season boxsets. The only problem with that is that they're a lot more expensive. Ho hum.
