Brokeded Buffy
Nov. 22nd, 2004 07:46 pmMy Buffy boxset arrived from play.com today... with ripped hinge points at top-rear and bottom-front, and a cut or score along one side panel. Not quite what I'd hoped for, so I guess I have to fuck around with returning it now.
By the way, it's a cheaply made piece of shit - even if I get an immaculate one, the only way to keep it that way will be to be extremely careful whenever removing a DVD set from it - the hinges for the lid and fold-down side panels are basically made of two thicknesses of paper.
On the other hand, the separate season boxsets would cost around £250 at current prices, and this was £140. I don't have another £110 spare, so I guess this is still my best bet for owning the whole lot any time soon...
It would be nice if they'd let me just return the box, as the weight of all the discs will drive the cost of registered post up considerably, but somehow I doubt they'll be that helpful.

"Thirdly, we found that this was even truer for our "power users". The customers who tended to buy the most from us tended to have the most problems, but by handling their problems properly we actually got to know some of them quite well. It turned out that most of them had previously shopped with our competitors, had eventually had a problem, received the customary terrible service, and promptly started shopping elsewhere."
