I'm halfway through catching up the horrendous friends-page backlog caused by going almost offline for a week or so. I was in Cambridge for a few days centred around NYE, and when I have been online I've been mostly busy with Kings of Chaos stuff. I'm now leader of the alliance I was a member of, a member of the best known alliance on KoC (very restricted membership, invite only), and also an op in the main KoC IRC channel. This is turning out to be time-consuming, although entertaining.

Anyway... on my trekking through friends' posts, I saw this quote and liked it:

"Don't dwell on the past, and don't put things off 'til the future. The time is now." ([livejournal.com profile] denari)

Glad my meanderings mean something to someone else :)

A little help?

Hey Denny,
This am I got up and realized that overnight I had "lost" 22 wargs. No attacks, none of my defenses had been hit, so I wondered if anything like this had happened to you, recently or not? It seems that if someone had hacked my account the wargs would have been turned into cash and then my defenses would show an attack. Or the attack log would register. So, damn. Here I sit with a crap-assed defense and no inkling as to why.
I also have a question about spying if you have the time to answer. I realize you are busy. Thanks.
Sid

Disappearing weaponry

Okay, the only ways you should lose weaponry are if (a) it gets sabotaged, or (b) you sell it. You say there were no attacks on you, but wargs are an attack weapon as far as I recall (I'm not an orc), so if they were sabotaged it would require you making an attack for them to disappear. Have you attacked anyone lately? If so, look at the battle reports and check for a line that says "22 were found to be sabotaged". Sabotaged weapons simply vanish when you try to use them - most annoying.

If you were sabotaged then I recommend you build up your Covert Action before buying too much new weaponry, as it could easily happen again. A Covert Action of more than 130,000 renders you immune to sabotage and is pretty much your first goal in this Age, certainly you want it before buying any serious amount of weaponry.

By the way, if you come into the chat linked from the top of KoC, I'm one of the ops there - I'm almost always in that room when I'm awake.

Can't get into the chat. Keep getting an error connect message.
Yeah, this is a case of the disappearing wargs. No sab. Last night when I went to bed they were there. This am not. Oh well. Thanks for your reply.
I actually keep a paper log of my account and update it (sometimes several times) every day.
Thanks for your input.
