*grin*

Bizarredly called the V6K or something in the UK purely because they felt that the name Valkyrie would make everyone think of Nazis. Personally it makes me think of women with large chests, but maybe I'm atypical.

Why would that make everyone think of Nazis? When I hear the word "valkyrie" I think of large blonde women on rollerskates. (As well as Karen of course but I think that's a highly specific bit of "UK".)

The Nazis latched onto lots of Germanic myths and warped them rather for their own purposes. One of the reasons why a lot of 20th Century Medieval European scholarship is deeply flawed and suspect, unfortunately.

Or presumably of Unity Mitford (the mad(der) one of the sisters who went off to German and was a Hitler groupie) - her middle name was Valkyrie, which I think is fantastic but apparently the Nazis latched onto and made her into some fantastical example of elite English womanhood.
