Preacher is leagues ahead of Sandman. Also, there are photos of me as Jesse, Oliver as Cassidy and Emma as Tulip (in appropriate blonde wig) from the Calling Halloween 2002.
Mneh. In some ways Preacher is more impressive than Sandman, but it doesn't have the tendency to exactly mirror my life that Sandman does, and it's never moved me to tears, which Sandman does every couple of pages. I don't find it as beautiful to look at, either, but I can perfectly understand the appeal of Preacher. It's just not the one for me.
Ah, I think I'm the other way around. Sandman can make me feel miserable, but doesn't bring tears. First time I read Preacher I had to stop every now and then because my glasses got so salty I couldn't see through them...
Er, yes. Preacher is very, very excellent. However, if you've read that and want more, I fully recommend Transmetropolitan - also Vertigo, written by Warren Ellis, drawn by Derick Robertson (or some such spelling.)
