Last week [livejournal.com profile] gothslut loaned me the entire series of the comic Preacher. I started reading it a few days ago, and I finished a few minutes ago.

Fucking hell, it's good.

It is. Very good. Will she let you hang onto them long enough to let me read [some of] them [again]?

I still consider myself a "Sandman person", but Preacher is fantastic. Just never read all of it.

Preacher is leagues ahead of Sandman. Also, there are photos of me as Jesse, Oliver as Cassidy and Emma as Tulip (in appropriate blonde wig) from the Calling Halloween 2002.

Mneh. In some ways Preacher is more impressive than Sandman, but it doesn't have the tendency to exactly mirror my life that Sandman does, and it's never moved me to tears, which Sandman does every couple of pages. I don't find it as beautiful to look at, either, but I can perfectly understand the appeal of Preacher. It's just not the one for me.

And yes, dear, I know there are, I was there. :)

Ah, I think I'm the other way around. Sandman can make me feel miserable, but doesn't bring tears. First time I read Preacher I had to stop every now and then because my glasses got so salty I couldn't see through them...

Far be it from me to feed any of the egos involved ;)

Go for it. As long as I get them back at some point you're welcome to take them with you if you like.

Thank you! Of course you'll get them back, I wouldn't steal something like that. Just want to read them all through for once. :)

~hugs~ See you soon!

I saw those!

*goes to check out what it's all about*

I'm sure I asked you what they were and never got an answer.

Er, yes. Preacher is very, very excellent. However, if you've read that and want more, I fully recommend Transmetropolitan - also Vertigo, written by Warren Ellis, drawn by Derick Robertson (or some such spelling.)
