Eternally unpacking...
Aug. 3rd, 2006 10:54 amWell okay, maybe not eternally... if I actually started, maybe I'd have a better chance of finishing at some point :) However, last night I did just that! (start, not finish). And lo, there was much achievement. The sofa and armchair are now in the study (which was the bedroom) rather than taking up space in the bedroom (that was the frontroom). Moving the sofa by myself was entertaining, especially considering how crowded that place is with my Stuff. As well as managing the miraculous feat of sofa re-arrangement, three out of the four bookcases got moved from the study into the bedroom. I realise the study sounds like a better place for bookcases, but I'm seriously starting to think I sleep better if I can see my books as I'm drifting off... for me, they make the difference between 'house' and 'home'. Besides, I like being able to reach the next book in a series easily if I finish the one before it while I'm curled up in bed at night :)
So, still to do:
* Move fourth bookcase from study to bedroom. Move fifth bookcase within bedroom, to sit with the other four. Mmmm, books.
* Buy computer desk for study, re-assemble computer system. Yay, intarmuwebs!
* Buy more clothes storage, assemble in study*, put clothes away.
This morning my muscles ache a fair bit, and I'm ridiculously tired. Not that I'm terminally unfit, oh no. Time to start getting down the gym again I guess.
* yes, okay, it's a bit of an arbitrary designation. Study is easier to say than "the room that's no longer the bedroom", it's not big enough to be a lounge, and the thing I'll spend most time using in that room will be my PC, so 'study' seemed vaguely more accurate/useful than any of the other options.
