PeaceNik: Why did you say we are we invading Iraq?

WarMonger: We are invading Iraq because it is in violation of security
council resolution 1441. A country cannot be allowed to violate security
council resolutions.

PN: But I thought many of our allies, including Israel, were in violation
of more security council resolutions than Iraq.

WM: It's not just about UN resolutions. The main point is that Iraq could
have weapons of mass destruction, and the first sign of a smoking gun
could well be a mushroom cloud over NY.

PN: Mushroom cloud? But I thought the weapons inspectors said Iraq had no
nuclear weapons.

WM: Yes, but biological and chemical weapons are the issue.

PN: But I thought Iraq did not have any long range missiles for attacking
us or our allies with such weapons.

WM: The risk is not Iraq directly attacking us, but rather terrorists
networks that Iraq could sell the weapons to.

Some thoughts

These are probably old, but I hadn't seen most of them before and the 2nd one really made me smile...

1. If you're too open-minded, your brains will fall out.
2. Don't worry about what people think; they don't do it very often.
3. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Weird World

I just got a 'withheld number' call on my mobile, from what sounded like a very stoned girl called Amy. She started off saying that I'd rung her mobile and she wanted to know who I was, so I rattled off my full name and the town I live in. I added that I hadn't rung anyone this morning. Then she asked me "Are you single?". Eh?!?

I made my excuses and left, as the saying goes.

...the daft bint tried to change the time on the glass clock in her bathroom, while in the bath. It slipped out of her wet hands, hit her knee and smashed, then a big chunk went into her foot and cut a couple of tendons (one totally, one partially). Ouch.

I've been to see her and she's basically okay. She had surgery this morning and they've managed to put her foot back together, but it looks like she might be kept in tonight as well, as they had to give her a general anaesthetic in the end and she's still a bit wobbly. When she gets out, she's got 4 weeks of having a big cast on her lower leg, and not being allowed to put any weight on her foot in case the tendons snap again.

Apparently she doesn't plan on letting this stop her working (as a photographer) at the Kerrang Weekender next week  :)
