Post-hospital update
Sep. 16th, 2003 12:33 pmJust got back from my 3 month check-up at the hospital. Nothing too exciting was said, but the news is slightly positive. The doctor said the skin graft and scars all look to be healing well, so that's good. He said there wasn't really much to be seen in the x-rays, but after a quick prod and waggle of the leg, he seemed reasonably content with it.
I go back for another appointment in 5 weeks time, and he says that if all is still well at that stage it'll be time for me to start putting a bit of weight on it. This will be roughly 4 months since surgery, rather than the original prediction of 6 months. He also said that the bones would take 6 to 12 months before he would class them as 'solid' - something that had previously been guesstimated at "at least 12 months".
So... slowly, but surely, I appear to be getting better. Hooray for my leg.
