...and happy as ever about it. Damn my house is cold.

Could have gone to Slimelight with [livejournal.com profile] duranorak tonight - was very tempted to - but feeling run down and really need to get some practical paperwork type things done tomorrow http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=jwz&itemid=158105(having just opened mail received yesterday/today, this is even more urgent now). So here I am.

Spent yesterday evening with [livejournal.com profile] duranorak at B-Movie, which was a very nice way to end Valentines day. She gave me what is quite possibly the most appropriate card I've ever received. And then she gave me a highly entertaining hand-made card as well.  *hugs [livejournal.com profile] duranorak*

Today, went on the London peace march. Wow, that was a lot of people. We set off from Trafalgar Square at about 12:45. We did the march... we were far enough from the front that I couldn't see it when I stood up on some railings to look over the crowd. We got to Hyde Park. We wandered around for half an hour or more. We decided to leave. We were walking back along the march route for almost an hour before we passed the back of the march - still on the route at 17:15, probably with a good half hour's walk to go before they would reach the park themselves. Wow.

This evening, a rather difficult parting from [livejournal.com profile] duranorak and then the long lonely drive home to a cold and increasingly pointless feeling house. Next weekend I'm going to seriously start on the task of throwing out all the shit I don't want or need, and getting the place into a state whereby I can sell it. If I can shift the place for a reasonable sum, I should be able to pay off the majority of my debts with the equity, and hopefully feel a bit less stressed about life. I can live in a rented room or something, until things settle down a bit... this will also give me less things to sort out with regard to moving out of the area, if I can find work somewhere else.

Update: [livejournal.com profile] reddragdiva has put up a few pics from the march, including one of this:
make tea not war

Update: other people's accounts will be linked here, as I find them...
[livejournal.com profile] firewoman: Wow - March
[livejournal.com profile] gnimmel: for i equals 1 to n, where n is greater than 1,000,000 and less than 2,000,000.

Update: There was even a demo at the South Pole. How cool is that?

:) when you stood up on the traffic island, everybody downstream for a distance of about 20m looked up and went "Ooh, that's a pretty...umm...person" :)

And it was great to see you again *hugs*

Wow, small world. I and my friends left from Trafalgar square at the same time. Seems like lots of the people I know about from reading the friends pages of my friends too often were right next to me and I never even knew. :)

We should have had an lj meetup  ;)

It's pretty cool just the sheer amount and variety of people who were there...

Okay, you've made me curious now... wonder how many people I can get to vote in this poll I've just set up:

Did you join a march? (http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=dennyd&itemid=74763)

Tell your friends to come over and vote! :)

When I arrived in Leeds about 8pm there was this small kid in the taxi queue with his parents, holding one of those. I thought it was cool until him and his brother started blowing their whistles *really* loudly right behind me.

Yessss, whistles were overly popular on the day. One of the guys selling the damn things apparently didn't actually know the cadence for 'shave and a haircut', which led me to coin the following:

Whistle: £1
Silly Hat: £5
Knowing the fucking tune: Priceless
