1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Learned to bodyfly.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Not very well. I might try for the same one again.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not that I recall.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My nan - we weren't super-close, but obviously it wasn't a good thing.
5. What countries did you visit?
None.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Motorbike. A second relationship maybe. Less stress. Possibly these last two are incompatible ;)
7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The Meal of WIN was a great weekend, especially following on as it did from a very bad month. I don't actually recall the date, although it would be easy enough to work out (weekend following my birthday).
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Learning to bodyfly I suppose.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Lost my zen approach to life for a month or two, quite disappointed about that.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I'm still suffering from 2003's injury, if that counts.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Bodyflying coaching.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Um. Lots of my friends are quite spectacularly good people, but I'd have to go for
denari first and foremost, for being a fantastic person on a regular basis, and to
libellum and
flippit for getting me a ballpool in the middle of the Meal of WIN party :-D
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
A few people. Naming names would seem unnecessary.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Monthly wages, rent and repaying debts until November, mortgage in December. The money from the bike crash finally came in, and that went on mortgage deposit, paying off debts, buying bodyflying lessons and fixing/upgrading my car.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Bodyflying :)
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Nothing springs to mind.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
Sadder.
b) thinner or fatter?
Thinner, I think. Or at least slightly more toned in the stomach area.
c) richer or poorer?
Richer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Bodyflying :)
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Angsting.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
In my new flat, with
libellum,
elise, and
libellum's immediate family. It'll be nice to return the hosting her parents gave us last year.
21. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Yeah.
22. How many one-night stands?
Um. Depends how you count it - sort of one.
23. What was your favourite TV program?
Battlestar Galactica maybe, although I watched it on DVD.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.
25. What was the best book you read?
Um... maybe Transmet, if I'm allowed to choose ones I've read before this year?
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Can't remember if I knew Pendulum before this year. If not, then them. If I did, then Safri Duo.
27. What did you want and get?
My own flat.
28. What did you want and not get?
A certain relationship.
29. What was your favourite film of this year?
None spring to mind.
30. What did you do on your birthday
Helen ;) Although I did sit around moping for more of it than I should. Made up for it the weekend after though!
31.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
My leg being miraculously healed? Or aiming a little lower, not having my birthday fucked up would have been nice. *shrug*
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Same as it's been for about 10 years... black Levi 501s and a plain black t-shirt.
33. What kept you sane?
This question may contain unwarranted assumptions.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I generally don't bother. I like real people.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
ID cards, right to demonstrate near Parliament, the general slide into a police state.
36. Who did you miss?
My friends, every week that we weren't around each other.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
Jury is still out.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
Didn't learn anything new, I don't think. Had a few things reinforced.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year
First this
And then that
It's just one thing after another
