Many thanks to everyone who turned up to the picnic - I had a really nice time, which was greatly appreciated after a really difficult week. Everyone else seemed to be having fun too, and there were a number of requests for a repeat occurence ASAP. So:

Next Picnic: Saturday April 21st (yes, six days from now). Same time, same place!*

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=2353421231

I wasn't sure about doing another one so soon, but a fair number of people at yesterday's picnic suggested it, so there we go... hope to see you there!

Extra special thanks to those who came to the rather smaller gathering at the Catcave afterwards. Again, it was very good for my soul - many hugs to all involved.

* for those who didn't come yesterday, the rough plan is:

Meet at Sainsburys in Camden at 1pm. Buy food and drink, head to the park around quarter to two, arriving around 2pm. Settle somewhere near the central drinking fountains, preferably in some shade (see map in first comment). Acquire stragglers throughout day :)

Might want to put this on this entry and the Facebook event -

I've uploaded a copy of the Regent's Park map to

http://www.packetjockey.com/HostedForLJ/regentspark_map.pdf

and a snippet with a great big red dot where the goths should go to

http://www.packetjockey.com/HostedForLJ/gothpicnic_map_small.jpg

it's a 600x600 JPEG with the idea that people can whack it on their phones then read it as they would a normal photo. might make life easier for munters with no sense of direction.

like lily and myself.

heh.

Hopefully my beloved will be out of bed in time for this one! He's just made affirmative noises, anyway. I'll also make some more iced spicy fruit finger buns, as the current batch (assuming that they last) will be off by then.

was good to see you honey :)

BTW we found a plastic bag with plastic plates, cups, and a set of Poi in it - do you know who it might belong to? I have it at mine.

xx

Describe the poi and I might have a chance of guessing.

Oh actually, are they white and black stretchy sock poi? If so, that belongs to Benjy - I remember him saying he couldn't find his poi at the end of the night.

they're essentially yellow tennis balls on orange strings... not much else to describe about them really...

Doesn't ring any bells. Hopefully the owner will see this, otherwise... will you be at the next picnic? If you are, please would you bring the bag with you? If not, I'll grab it off you one evening this week.

I can't make it on that date, it's my daughter's birthday weekend and there is Stuff that she wants to do locally, even if we ignore the fact that Jordan is coming home at 5pm Saturday and then going somewhere else at 10am on Sunday.

The point of the comment: It was lovely to see you. You smell lovely when you're hot. I wish I'd spent more time with you, though you seemed happier swinging stuff about in interesting ways. And I need, at some point, to remove your trousers. To make a pattern from them, obviously. *Innocent look*

It was absolutely fantastic to see you all - totally unexpected and very very happy-making :)

You smell lovely when you're hot.

Rawr :)

I wish I'd spent more time with you

I wish I'd spent more time with everyone there that day - it was so busy! Still, plenty more picnics in the summer...

though you seemed happier swinging stuff about in interesting ways.

First chance I've had to play in the sun, so I was making the most of it. Yesterday and today my legs ache, so I guess I needed the exercise :)

I need, at some point, to remove your trousers.

You wouldn't be the first. There's something about tie-up trousers that attracts mischievous fingers.

I have some you can borrow..they might actually fit you as well, as they have been adjusted for small people :)

Aw, thank you, that's a lovely thought. If they hadn't been adjusted that'd be perfect, because I was going to make some for [livejournal.com profile] ev1ldonut from the pattern. I might still be able to get the basic shape from yours though and then lengthen them, so if I could have a look at them I'd be very grateful. I assume they're the CyberDog type that Denny was wearing?

yup, lol they haven't been properly turned up so if you want the length i can just unpick the tacking!

Oh, don't go to any trouble, I'll have to adjust the length for Mr Donut anyway (he has abnormally long legs, his inside leg measurement is bigger than his waist measurement) and I can probably see what's going on without unpicking anything. It's helpful that they've not had any material actually removed, though.

She might well like to, but I think it's probably a better idea if she stays in Cheltenham with her own friends (much as she loves mine) and goes to the circus or something. (Also, the older and prettier and curvier she gets, the more I worry about the fact that some of the younger goths are closer to her age than mine, and how complicated that might potentially make things. *Grin*) It'll just be me and the Donut, I think. :)
