Cat Washing Machine

No really, it's a machine at a pet shop that you put a cat in to wash it. Surely this is cruelty to animals? The poor thing is NOT happy in there. I hope it savaged whoever took it out when it was done.

Although come to think of it I did just drop my two new rats into a bath of water the other night to see if they enjoyed swimming.... (To be fair it was only half full, was a decent temperature, and they could have stayed by the edges if they wanted to avoid the water.)

We clean our rats this way too, but I think it's a damn sight less traumatic than placing them inside a sealed container :/

Plus we only fill the very bottom so that they can wander to the non-plughole end where it's virtually empty.

I don't think they're keen on it but it's a necessary evil.

Cruelty to animals is one thing, cruelty to cats is inexcusable

Besides, cats self clean! Who though a cat washing machine was something the world needed?

I had to turn it off pretty fucking quick too. Urgh. If a cat really needs a bath because it's stopped washing itself (which does happen in elderly or ill cats), it should be done with a lot of love and reassurance :(

No matter how stupid the owner for trying out the kitty washing machine, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that animal is extremly distressed as soon as the water comes on. One would have thought a suitable keeper / custodian of animals would have stopped the machine immediatly and retreived beloved pet.

The fact they thought it would make good internet viewing is also a worry really.
