I renewed mine last year, and since it's actually not a bad picture of me, I don't plan to go through all that hastle again for another 9 years...

Hopefully they'll have scrapped the database by then. I don't mind the identity card (although I do agree that every 'reason' for it that they've suggested wouldn't be helped by this card), but I'm not certain about the tying up of so much data in one place - it's so screaming 'hack me', or for people with legit access 'abuse me'...

£51 :( I know that the ID card will cost almost as much and the factsheet reckons passport renewal will double by October, but I don't have £51 in May. What happened to socialism, eh? Protesting should be cheap, damnit.
