I just accepted a job offer.
Pros:
* Working with sane open-source technologies, rather than an in-house (non-transferrable skill) application framework.
* North London location - meaning I can move to North London... real London!
* Shinier job title - 'Senior Developer'
* Slightly more money.
Cons:
* Horrific existing codebase (but my job is to replace it, not maintain it).
* North London location - meaning I have to commute from SW19 to N1 until I can find a new flat, and from N[5-9?] once I do find a new flat. Also that I have the hassle of moving, boo. Hey, some people are never happy :)
* Higher rent in the new area looks certain to eat more than the wage increase will gain me.
* 9am start, not negotiable - argh.
On the whole, I am a bouncy and excited thing just now. :) I've been feeling like I need a bit of change to jumpstart my enthusiasm for life lately, and here it is. So yeah, I'm excited. *bounces*
I start when I've recovered from my surgery, so sometime early June.
