I'm planning on going to see V for Vendetta at some point this week or weekend... anybody care to join me? Either south London or central, depending on who's interested and when.

Edit: not Friday.

Possibly, yes. Although I may or may not be attempting to see it with James once he's got his glasses.

Could possibly see a mid week screening, if it's within easy travel of the Guildford-Waterloo line.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/films/2006/03/08/v_for_vendetta_2006_review.shtml - although it is a fairly moot point as I very rarely go to the cinema anyway.

I have to say that the fact that Hugo Weaving is playing V is highly discouraging for me... he tends to piss me off. Still, I can always read the comic again if the film turns out to be that disappointing :)

Not to mention the fact that Alan Moore himself is so appalled by it that he's had his name removed from the credits...

That's not unique to this film, it's part of his default conditions for any film adaption of his work. He wasn't very happy with earlier efforts and now refuses to have anything to do with anything except the royalty cheques, apparently.
