Gym stuff

Went to the gym last night, and when I finished my workout and hit the 'logout' button on the whizbang computer thingy it told me my current workout plan was finished and I needed to contact my trainer to get a new one assigned to me. This prompted me to look back over the history a bit... apparently I've been a member for two months now - feels like much longer. Anyway, in that time I've been to the gym 18 times (which averages out to around twice a week), and lifted (/pushed/pulled/whatever) just over 100,000kg of weights. On average I've done about 25% more than my workout programme required (mostly because they gave me everything in batches of 3, and odd numbers drive me crazy) :)

The twice a week thing isn't too good really... my intention was to go 3 or 4 times a week, but a combination of a busy life and a lazy attitude has obviously scuppered that part of the plan. At 65 quid a month, I really need to start going more often (and more regularly - my history has entire missed weeks in at present, then lots of visits all close together) - otherwise it's a fairly serious waste of money.

It is doing me some good - I can dance with much less pain now - and also I have acquired some kind of muscle definition on my chest, somewhat to my surprise. My arms remain obstinately twig-like :) My weight is up to 75kg (11.8 stone) according to the scales at the gym, although I have a nasty feeling more of that has gone on my flabby belly than on my manly chest. Still, it's 2 stone more than I've weighed most of my adult life, and this is probably a good thing. As long as I don't get too much flabbier.

You being able to feel/see results after only 2 months shows you have done a good job working out. :)
As you continue, your body will get addicted to it, and the need/want to go there becomes stronger.

I think you deserve a pat on the back actually - twice a week isn't bad at all and I agree, given time you'll get adicted to it and go more often anyway. It's good to look at what's missing but have a pint on me! you've done pretty well to keep it up. Having worked in Gyms for a few years I know that the majority who are members never go. The fact that if you are concious of getting value for your money is a healthy thing in itself.
