denny: (I need stuff!)

Orange customer retention department once again justify their existence. They're sending me a new Nokia 6630 tomorrow, to replace the broken one. They're also sending me a new Sony Ericsson K600i, because I'm fed up with the Nokia anyway. And they're transferring me from my current talk plan (200 minutes which I never use more than 60 of, 120 texts which I always use more than, £38 a month) to a shiny new one (100 minutes, 500 texts, £25 a month). Orange now own my soul for the usual 12 months again, but that seems reasonable.

I am teh win, I guess. And I might be able to phone people by tomorrow evening, which will be handy. And reply to text messages, which will stop me screaming at my phone whenever I receive one and hit 'reply' without thinking :)

Yeah, I'm quite scared of crossing the phone brandname boundary. :)

the biggest problem I had, and i don't know how well S/E do this, but some other brands' keylock systems just don't work and my pocket was running me up colossal bills.

My Nokia 3310 had an alarming habit of phoning the police on a regular basis. It did it once when I was driving someone home from a large and less than entirely legal transaction, which we were discussing at great length on the drive :) I imagine the 999 operators hang up on people's pockets fairly quickly since mobiles became common, which is probably fortunate.
