In other news, [livejournal.com profile] exitwound's party was mostly a success I think... there was near-naked not-homoerotic-at-all baby-oil wrestling, as well as the usual selection of drunkeness, debauchery, fire-wielding maniacs and air guitar.

It seems that driving to Cheltenham and back costs me in the region of 80 quid each time I do it. I may have to give some thought to not booting the car away from junctions quite so exuberantly.

If your 7 is anything like my 8, then booting away from junctions doesn't make *that* much of a difference to the dire fuel economy :) Although I find doing the motorway bits at 70ish rather than 90is makes quite a big difference to how far I get out of a tankful.

Anyhow, booting it out of junctions, or especially round roundabouts is a good chunk of the point of having the batmobile! :)

The 8 is a new design of engine and presumably engine management systems. I wouldn't be surprised if there were relatively significant differences in fuel consumption patterns between the two generations.

And, from memory, [livejournal.com profile] dennyd has changed significant things about the Batmobile, which have probably trashed his fuel consumption :)

It's been ported, but that's not really being used yet as the ECU, intake and exhaust systems are all still standard. My ever-decreasing fuel efficiency is almost certainly a function of my increasing enthusiasm for the higher end of the rev counter :)

The 8 has the bizarre characteristic of being more fuel efficient at higher revs, at least in the higher gears... the engine management software for the 8 is quite convoluted it seems.

Yes. There were. And I fully intend to vet them, before they go online. *Facepalm*

Note to self: Take jewellery off first - I have a scratch along my throat where [livejournal.com profile] hamsterhotep had his forearm in my neck / necklace.

And no. Not homoerotic at all. :P

I have some pretty funny ones, I'll have to weed out the ones with extra-testicular activity before I post them up though

Why risk damaging my £50 lens when I can borrow Rik's £625 one? No wait...

Vet them? If I could find a vet I'd have them put down.
