Yet Another New Year
Jan. 2nd, 2003 01:46 pmThey just keep coming, don't they? On the whole I'm glad to see the back of 2002 - it was without doubt host to many of the worst events and feelings of my life. There were some (very) good bits, but to say they were overshadowed by the bad would be an understatement.
I said goodbye to last year, and hello to this one, in the company of 1200 other people in shiny pervy outfits: http://ukfetish.info/?article=272 ... so that was nice. I was also in the company of
darklightimages, which was about the best way to end the year that I can think of... even if she wouldn't give me a proper Happy New Year kiss ;) Hey, it never hurts to ask... well, maybe it does, but I was drunk so I asked anyway, what the hell.
Here's to this year being better than the last (shouldn't be too tricky).
New Year Resolutions:
I don't usually bother with them... if something is that important to me, I'll get on with it as soon as I think of it, not save it up to be a new year resolution. If it's not that important, I won't stick to it anyway. However, this year I happened to get pissed off with Nestle (yet again) in the last week or two of the year, and so I've finally decided to join the boycott on their products. Their contemptible business practises in the third world have been going on for years now - I first heard of the boycott when one of my previous ex-gf's was at Uni, almost ten years ago (the baby milk issue) - but it's taken this long for them to break through my essentially self-centred world view, as they make several of my favourite chocolate bars and cereals, and I have very lax morals. Apparently not as lax as I thought though, and they're off my shopping list from now on...
Other than that, I think I'll resolve to have more fun this year. Go me.

Date: 2003-01-02 08:11 am (UTC)I just think it would be best if it was left to fend for itself - why are they our responsibility anyway?
Well I've probably offended just about everybody now by my ignorance so I shall leave this as it is and stop digging.
Oh, other than to say "Woohoo!" to having more fun than last year ;)
