Very very bored.

Today has consisted mostly of waiting for a reply to an email, and waiting for the end of the workday. The latter seems more likely to arrive than the former, but neither of them is turning up quite as swiftly as I could have hoped.

I have now woken up at about 5am every night for the last two weeks or more. It's getting harder and harder to get back to sleep, and harder and harder to wake up again when my alarm goes off just after I finally do get back to sleep. I wish I knew what was causing it. All these sleep problems are particularly annoying to me because I used to be so damn good at sleeping - it was my specialist subject! - and now I'm losing hours of sleep all over the place. No wonder I'm so knackered all the time.

have you tried sleeping pills? Nytol is fairly gentle and can be bought over the counter. I also like temazepam; I went through one stage in my depression where I was waking up with panic attacks every morning at 4am, and if I managed to doze again having nightmares. Temazepam was quite good at not only getting me to sleep but keeping me asleep for exactly 8 hours every night.

I'll understand if you don't like the chemicals though. Have you tried getting up at 5am and doing things like showering, hoovering, laundry, cooking an evening meal that can be re-heated in the evening? Could you go into work earlier or do you have set hours? I find that when you're waking at dawn, if you get up at dawn for a few days you become knackered in a good way rather than a sick gritty way, and can usually sleep quite soundly for the next few nights.

They fed me temazepam a couple of times at hospital, and prescribed me it again a few weeks after I left there - bizarrely it seems to keep me awake all night.

I suppose I could go to work at 7am... that'd fucking confuse them :)

Very probably stress. Try herbal sleeping pills, relaxing, etc.
