With a what now?
Feb. 16th, 2005 09:41 amSpitz last night was a bit of a waste of tube fare... the pub we were relocated to (due to a music awards ceremony being filmed in Spitz last night) failed to mention that they'd wrecked their outdoor lighting, so we were left having to send people home for bedside lamps and try to get some light out there that way. It was too cold to stand outside and spin, and too smoky to sit inside and chat. I hung around for a while, then came home again. Then I stupidly got into an argument online and stayed up discussing things to do with my KoC alliance until about half past one.
Ugh.
Speaking of KoC, it resets this weekend. I'm still #1, as I have been for most of the Age, and I have a fairly significant lead - so there's a good chance I'm going to win. No prizes this Age, but it'll be nice anyway... more of a comment on how good an alliance I managed to put together, rather than how good I am at the game itself, but then that's what I enjoy about the game... the politics and diplomacy that has built up around it. Next Age it seems likely that my alliance will be a victim of its own success, as many of our strong sub-groups are splitting off to go it alone, whereas our main rivals are staying fairly tightly integrated in the face of their quite comprehensive defeat this Age. Oh well, maybe we'll make a comeback in Age 5 :)

Regarding us being smaller next age, I prefer it that way, I had much more fun in the alliance when we were the #2. People generally favour the underdog and dislike the top guy/gal.
/me lurks back into the shadows ;)
