Wtf is going on with LJ this week? If it had only happened since the rumour of the sale broke, I'd put it down to everyone panicking and running screenscraper backup tools and so on, but it started a couple of days before that.

I'm still not convinced the two things aren't related, but I can't see why or how.

Update: normal connection speeds resumed on the 9th for me. *shrug*

Are you on the chef cluster?
If so, its software setup sucks and it's very busy. It only holds free accounts
Also they cocked up their load balancer upgrade for a bit by failing to upgrade a fast ethernet to gigabit, but they fixed that in a few hours.

I had a terrible slowdown when they upgraded the Load balancers a few days ago, just before the post announcing the new balancers were up and running.

Mine's back to normal now though, as far as I can tell.
