That's a tough one. I have a biology degree, but the rules for trying to find work in the UK as an American were really tough. Basically unless you have skills that can't be found in any other candidate from the UK or the EU at large, you're out of luck. :(

Unless you're going into certain professions where there's a known shortage, yes, that's the case.

Teaching English as a second language. Does that person speak/read/write any other language fluently? Probably teaching could be the best bet. My reccomendation, get a master's and then try for an assistant professorship at a University. OTher than that, you could always be a writer. Doesnt' matter where you live if you're a writer... you can do that job from anywhere. :-) Besides, an outsider's perspective on the EU or a displaced American's perspective on America's actions and attitudes in the past 4 years could be a good read.
